MPRI Program.
People from Incarnation were the main organizers in setting up the Michigan Prisoner ReEntry Program
in Washtenaw County three years ago. Those presently involved are Mary King, who is the Program Coordinator; Joe Summers, who is the Community Co-Chair; Penny Rider and Mary Heinen, who serve on the Steering Committee; Jane Pogson, Ann Larimore, and Kathy Crosby, who are all active with the Advisory Council. This program has a project that provides supportive housing for those who come out of prison, some suffering from serious mental illnesses, some homeless. The program is now focusing on addressing the lack of jobs for people coming out of prison, seeking the help of such groups as The Delancy Street Foundation in San Francisco, Pioneer in Human Services in Seattle, and Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers (TROSA) in Durham, NC.
